Abstract

This thesis is entitled The Masculinity in the Novel Little Children by Tom Perrotta. In this thesis the researcher wanted to find out how Todd showed his masculinity as a father who does not work and stayed at house and also to find out the concept of masculinity itself. The objectives of this thesis were to find out and describe the masculinity of Todd and the concept masculinity in Little Children novel. The method used in writing this thesis is Descriptive qualitative method. The finding of this thesis is the behavior and the relationship with friends and Todd’s love affair. The researcher also found the concept of masculinity of Todd based on Beynon’s theory. The conclusion of this thesis are found that the masculine of Todd showed by gathering with friends outside the house, doing sports like playing football, drinking and then having an affair. The researcher also found the concept masculinity of Todd dominant in 1990s.
