Abstract
Feminism is quite influential in an age that has started to develop. This can be seen from the start of the number of films (one example) with the theme of feminism. In this research, the story of a film called Suffragette 2015 directed by Sarah Gavron, a film that is very feminine, shows the struggle of British women who want to get gender equality in certain fields, one of which is in the political field. The view of many people who think that this woman is a weak and helpless creature makes some British women act against this view. This research focused on the main character as well as his personal life which most of which he spent working in a laundry company, the researcher also focused on the movements in the film. In this film, we could see the injustice and violence that existed at that time, not even many young women at that time experienced sexual violence in their place of work. Researchers wanted to see how a movement could affect a person's life, especially the main characterin the film and the main character struggle that reflected liberal feminism. Through dialogues, statements and scenes that the researcher has chosen as points to answer the formulated problems and by using the teachings of feminism, especially liberal feminism. It was found that there were 3 phases consisting of several scenes and dialogues to answer the first problem, Maud Watts indifference, Maud Watts interest and Maud Watts Involvement. From the results the researcher got, Maud's interest and involvement were in these three phases. In the last result that the researcher got, in Maud Watts Struggle, the researcher found several scenes that reflected the nature, purpose, and actions of a liberal feminism based on the theory of Beasley (1999). Keywords: women political movement, suffragette, liberal feminism discourse
