Abstract

"Aksara Ulu" is one of the scripts or writing systems developed by the communities of South Sumatra, particularly the ethnic groups of Serawai, Lembak, Rejang, and Pasemah. Generally, Aksara Ulu is utilized for daily activities such as storytelling, composing poetry, and recording customary laws. The preservation of Aksara Ulu is crucial due to its diminishing usage with the introduction of the Latin script as the international standard. To conserve Aksara Ulu, there is a need for a tool that can aid in transliterating Latin text into Aksara Ulu. Hence, this research aims to develop a web-based application for transliterating Latin text into Aksara Ulu using mapping techniques and sequential search algorithms. The resulting application will assist and simplify users in the process of transliterating text from Latin to Aksara Ulu.
